GENERAL DESCRIPTION|| Luke is a very tall person at over seven feet tall. He's also extremely muscular and strong. He takes pride in his speed, both when running and when fighting, even when thinking. His hair is blond and handsome, his eyes are a deep sapphire blue.

His arms and legs are long and powerful, his chest broad and strong, his shoulders wide. Everything about him is big and well toned.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES||
It would have to be the scars that mar his body. The first one is on his face, from under his left eye, to nearly his chin. The second is on his right arm, from shoulder to a few inches above his wrist. He also rarely goes anywhere without his flute necklace on.

GENERAL PERSONALITY|| Luke is a very kind person and he's often standing up for the younger children. He's brave and honest, but he's also got a temper and when he's good at keeping it under control under most circumstances, there are times when he snaps. He doesn't like for his flute to be touched, or his to have his parents insulted or to be called 'scar face'. When he snaps, people will know because then he attacks.

He's very competitive, and if someone challenges him to a fight, a race, or any competition he won't turn them down and will give it everything he has. He loves a challenge almost as much as loves his little brother and doesn't back down from them. Be it in classes or in life.

He also spends a good deal of time studying and since he's a very active young man, he does it outside or where there's a fair bit of back ground noise. His studies are pretty much the only thing keeping his grades afloat he'll never forget having to show his five year old brother his report card after his Godfather Iggy hit the roof. The little boy had laughed so hard that Luke kicked him into the pond and walked off in a huff. Since then, he's tried to improve his grades and his study habits.

Luke can't stand to see a girl cry because it scares him and makes him feel like he should be doing something but most of the time he doesn't know what, so he gets sort of panicky when a girl cries in front of him. He tries to help anyway, even if he's just a shoulder to cry on. He's shy when it comes to the ladies, so it's awkward to him to see them crying.

When he's with a girl that he likes, he gets tongue tied, he rambles, blushes and basically acts like any nervous teenage would act in front of his girl. He tends to get too nervous to ask the girls out or even give them flowers or tell them his feelings, so he just acts like a fool around them and embarrasses himself. He blushes easily when this happens, to his own humiliation. As for how he acts in class, he's pretty well behaved, he doesn't act up or anything but there are certain teachers which he doesn't like. There isn't anything he can do about that so he keeps his opinions about them to himself. But he'll gripe about them to Iggy every now and again.

Luke is also a very proud person, when he's in physical pain, he tries not to show it. He'll hide it out of his pride and his longing to be strong, so unless he's in horrible mind numbing pain, he won't complain. He also doesn't like showing emotions such as sorrow or sadness, so if he is sad he does a good job of hiding it. He isn't arrogant in his pride however, he just wants to prove he's strong inside and out.

Ever since he was six he was raised to treat girls with the utmost respect. To hold open doors for them, buy their meal at lunch or dinner, and generally treat a girl like a precious gem. There are lines though which he draws, such as putting his coat down over a puddle for the girl to step on. He knows that's just stupid. He'll also stand up for a girl. If anyone is giving a girl a hard time, he'll step in. If a man dares to strike a woman for any reason, he will beat them to a pulp no questions asked.

HISTORY|| When he was a child, Luke was constantly playing games with his imagination and he always dreamed of becoming a martial artist like his father. He was tall for his age, and he followed his dad around like a shadow, insisting that the man show him everything he knew about fighting. Luke insisted on becoming a fighter, even if he was too young. He was a very optimistic child. He often played with the children in his neighborhood, and when he was five, a small girl discovered one of his greatest weaknesses. Having his hair stroked. His mother would stroke it when he was sleepy or upset and it always made him melt like butter. In a daze of happiness when the girl stroked his hair, he agreed to marry her before he even knew what marriage meant.

The girl skipped off before he could ask her what she meant and it confused him. By the age of six, his parents were killed by vampires. It had been a night like any other, except for the fact that his mother had given him a hand carved wooden flute. Then, as they were about to eat dinner the power was cut, plunging them all into darkness. He wasn't scared at first, he just figured it all a game. Until he heard his mother scream and there was a thud. Then, the lights came back on and there it was.

The chimera. It was both beautiful and terrifying. Blood coated its mouth and the eyes. Those eyes were a bright crimson. It went for his father next who roughly shoved Luke back. "Luke run!" He shouted but he was already in the creature's grip. Luke remembered screaming at the chimera, telling it (he couldn't tell if it were male or female) to let his daddy go. He begged his mother to get up, but in the back of his mind he knew she wouldn't. His father begged the monster to spare his son while at the same time yelling at the little boy to run away. Luke obeyed, but only after seeing his father die too. Then he ran but the vampire caught up to him in seconds, slicing open his face with a long, claw-like fingernail and then doing the same to his arm. Luke almost passed out there from shock and pain but then, the wolf chimera spoke to him.

"Run." it breathed "Before I change my mind." and run Luke did. All the way out into the street, stumbling and falling until finally he ran into the road and was nearly struck by a car. He passed out then and awoke in a hospital. About a week after the attack, his dad's best friend, Ignatius came by and quickly signed some papers, confirming that in the absence of his parents, he was to be Luke's legal guardian. Iggy promised him that he'd take care of the little guy and raise him properly.

Iggy took over Luke's training as a fighter and found out that like his father, Luke was to be a martial artist as well. Four years after the attack, Iggy came home with a surprise, a baby boy from the adoption agency. He'd been trying to adopt him for quite some time. Luke instantly loved the infant and took it into his arms and held him. The two boys bonded over the year until Charles, or Skittles as Luke called him (because Charles had gotten into a game of skittles and was delighted at it), and they soon became almost inseparable. Luke was constantly with the little baby and both were very happy. Luke was often playing with his brother by placing him inside a laundry basket and running behind it, pushing it in front of him while making ‘vroom vroom’ sounds loudly.

This amused both boys to no end. When the young boy became tired, he’d flop to the floor on his back and Skittles would curl up next to him. Iggy would find them moments later sleeping peacefully together, Luke holding onto the baby’s miniscule hand.

It was a hot day, sweltering. Oppressively so. It was supposed to be spring but apparently mother nature didn't know that, for heat rose in waves from the ground, making everything appear to shimmer and dance. Every person was inside where it was nice and cool. Everyone except for one person. Luke Denmark. Nothing would keep him from training. Not heat, not cold, not illness. As long as he could get up and walk around without anything weird happening to him, the boy was going to train himself. So there he was outside, sweat pouring from his body in torrents, his shirt cast aside, his chest bare. His long blond hair clung to back of his neck, sweat ran from his forehead and he reached up with an arm to wipe it away. A single drop ran into the scar on his face and followed it from under his left eye all the way to his chin where it dripped off to land on the grass at his feet. His chest rose and fell as the Gryffindor panted for air, he was getting his second wind, ready for another push. Luke was unaware of the eyes watching him from afar, they weren't hostile, merely curious and perhaps a little turned on.

No, the seven foot four boy didn't think of anything except his goal. And that goal was to finish his training. To him, being strong was important. Knowing how to fight and defend himself and his loved ones and friends was even more important and the only way to do that was to make himself stronger and faster. He wasn't very good at most magic, so the Gryffindor relied heavily on his own strength. He knew he could beat just about anyone in hand to hand combat, but still he trained himself at least five hours a week. Why? Because he loved it. There wasn't anything he liked more than the feeling of pushing himself to the limits of his strength and knowing that a month or a week ago he couldn't have pushed himself as hard. That his training was paying off. It did however have its own risks. As he focused his blue eyes on a large tree, a smile lifted the corners of his mouth and Luke raced forward, the wooden flute hanging from the chain around his neck bounced lightly against his chest as he charged forward.

He planted his feet firmly on a rock, pushing off and flying into the air where he threw himself into a flip before thrusting out his hands and grabbing onto a thick tree branch. He let go with one hand, allowing himself to dangle from one arm and began doing pull ups. The heat made it that much harder, drained his energy and he loved every moment of it. The sheer challenge of it all. As he pumped himself up and down he kept his legs drawn up to his chest, keeping his feet from touching the grass. After doing as many as he could, he was about to switch arms when he heard a loud crack. "Uh-oh." was all the time he had to say anything before the branch broke off under his weight and he crashed to the ground. There was another crack as he landed awkwardly on his right arm, which bore a long thick scar. Pain lanced through it and Luke bit his lip to keep from crying out. "Stupid." He gritted out, scolding himself for his own recklessness.

He knew the bone was broken, but he couldn't lie there and worry about it. So up he got, his arm at an unnatural angle from his body. Away he went, taking care to bend over and pick up his shirt, which he used to towel his face dry and wipe a little of the dirt from himself. With each step, the pain in his arm got worse, but he ignored it, knowing he had to get himself to the Hospital Wing. Besides, he didn't want to be escorted there by a student or a teacher. As long as he was able to walk he'd take himself there. His pride wouldn't allow anything else. Into the white room he walked, peering around for the healer and spotting someone else entirely. Remus Lupin. Remus was a good friend of his and Luke knew for a fact that he was always in the Hospital Wing for one reason or another. His immune system must take frequent vacations. "Hey Remus." He greeted, not bothering to ask him why he was there or if he was okay. He just looked sick but Luke knew that by the end of the day he'd be fine. "Seen Pomfrey around anywhere?"

He asked, seating himself on the end of a bed, taking care to move gingerly so as not to cause himself anymore pain. Almost as if she knew he was there, the woman bustled out and began scolding him for being silly as he explained what happened. Moments later he was given a pain potion which he drank, suppressing the urge to make a face at the taste and his arm was being gently poked with a wand to test for exactly where and how the bone had been broken. "Take it from me Remus." Luke said dryly after his arm had been healed, but it was still stiff and would be for another hour at least. "Never do one armed pull ups on a tree around here. I swear, these damn things have minds of their own! It was just fine once I finished one session! Soon as I decided to do another the stupid branch decides to just break!" he smiled ruefully and then leaned back on the bed and eventually lay down.

He was reluctant to put his shirt back on, for it was damp, dirty and it would be difficult since now his arm refused to move more than in inch or two. It was the nature of the scar that did it. The thing ran from his shoulder to nearly his wrist and was thick and knotted looking. If it was struck too hard it would cause the muscles underneath to lock up, it wasn't painful to him though, unless it was hit hard by a spell or an object. He glanced over to the potion in Remus's hand and made a face, "Yuck." he muttered, "Looks like someone went and made soup out of dragon dung. Smells like it too." Then he laughed "Sorry. That probably didn't help any did it?" he asked, then something was handed to him and he looked over at Pomfrey.

"Oh....thanks!" He said brightly, it was his shirt, washed with a spell. He'd never been very good at cleaning spells. For some reason he always ended up making the messes even worse. He began putting it on, struggling slightly with his arm and in the end he chose to just let it stay out of the sleeve for the time being. "It always locks up after a really hard impact." he explained "Pomfrey always thinks it's more serious than it is so she'll make me stay here until I can make it move again. She's such a mother hen." but his tone was kind. The woman was nothing but sweet and it was hard to be mad at her when she was so caring and nice. It was like glaring at puppies or a baby.

"So." He asked, "How long do you have to stay here?" He asked as he fished the flute from the collar of his shirt with his left hand and slowly ran his fingers over the wood. He wanted a little company since he knew he'd probably be stuck here for at least an hour. More if the healer had her way.
