roleplay sample: He had just reached the Mysste Region. The air seemed crisp and fresh, giving off an air that seemed to calm him. The sun was still low in the sky, leaving a mirror of stars overhead that still to that day amazed the man. In the distant horizon you could see the beginning of a pink line forming, marking that direction as the east. Sunrise was coming, but was still a ways off. He planned to stop somewhere and watch it when it did come.
Honestly though, he had no idea where he was, or where he was going. He heard from someone on the way here that the first place he should stop should be Birchfall Town. Wherever that is, he grumbled to himself. He had gone through a lot to get here. He was Pokemon-less, moneyless, starving. . . and had no clue what to do about any of it. He didn't let his worry show on his face, but all in all the entire thing was obviously bringing him down and into a grumpier mood than usual. He had snapped on the last person he met, cruelly taunting them. The person seemed hurt, but they only walked away and didn't bother him any further.
Part of him wished that he hadn't come here, but only because this place was too unfamiliar. In all of his years of studying, never once had he read anything about this place. He knew it was a relatively new region after all, but other than that he knew nothing. He shrugged it off -- he would just have to learn then. Perhaps this Birchfall Town had a library. If not, or if he couldn't find what he was looking for, than he would ask around and actually talk to people, trying to be polite for once. He wondered how well that would go, and admitted to himself that it probably wouldn't go well. It never did anymore.
He walked through the streets of wherever he was. No one bothered him, mostly because it was so early and hardly any one was out. His red eyes flickered over the few that were, inspecting them and watching them. A few seemed to be drunk, hanging out in a corner of an alley up ahead. He could see them, he wasn't blind, but he ignored them. He wasn't concerned about any of them. When he got to the alley's entrance, however, they seemed to spot him.
He could tell from the corner of his eyes that they wanted something from him. This idea was only reinforced when one of them, an awful looking bald man somewhere in his thirties by Alicar's guess, called out to him. "Hey, boy! Come here, we wanna. . . talk." Well now, Alicar wasn't that stupid, but he did come to a halt. His head slowly turned to face them and he looked at them with a flat expression. "Oi, I'm broke old man. Bother someone else that you can actually take on."
They hadn't said it, but Alicar considered it a challenge. They planned on beating him up, taking his possessions, and fleeing. He knew they did, they were just common thugs, worthless scum in his eyes, and he didn't have time for them. If they wanted a fight, however, he would give it to them. It seemed they did, not to his surprise, because they began to edge forward. He could see their hands slip into their pockets, probably reaching for a knife, he thought to himself. He didn't take his eyes off of the bald one, who seemed to be in charge.
"Come now. . . we don' mean no harm. We don' wanna steal from ya." he said, though it carried a hidden edge. Alicar didn't move, just watching them darkly, his eyes narrowing. When it became apparent that he wasn't coming closer to them, and that he didn't plan on leaving either, the men attacked him. There were only four of them, including the bald one, however. With his quick reflexes Alicar easily dodged aside from their knives, and within a matter of moments had managed to disarm and easily render them unconscious.
He knelt and started to pillage their bodies for any possessions. They were going to steal from him, so why shouldn't he do the same? It didn't take long, but eventually he had a handy pocket knife and a bit of money. It wasn't much, but at least it should get him a warm meal if nothing else. And that was exactly what he needed.
That and a Pokemon. He started to wonder where he could get one of them.[/SIZE]
