It was a gorgeous day. The sun shone brightly and the forest was alive with noise. Artemis breathed deeply and flicked her plumed tail. She could smell the different flora and fauna. It was an amzing thing to be able to do. She loved to just pause and scent the air, just to see what she could find. Her mouth watered a bit as she caught the scent of a rabbit. Artemis loved to go chasing the rabbits and other 'prey' she scented it would get her adrenaline going and it was fun, to her at least. She'd never eat the 'prey' though. Artemis craned her head around. Her eyes flicked back and forth, as she scanned the trees and the undergrowth. She shrugged and ran further. It had been a great day so far. She had gone to Dublith just the day before and today she had gotten permission to run around in the woods with her best friend, Marina.
Her long brown hair caught on one scraggly branch which protruded from a small tree. Artemis stopped and yanked her hair out before continuing deeper yet into the forest. She paused when she got to a clearing. It was about the size of half a football field, a few trees dotted the inside of the clearing. The grass went to her ankles and it was still soft and lush. It was the perfect place. On sandy embankments a stream rushed by collecting into a deep pond. Artemis was tempted to jump into the cold, shoulder deep pond and swim but she wasn’t sure if Marina would want to swim as well. Artemis glanced around and shrugged. He’ll just have to live with it… I’ll go swimming by myself if I have to!
Without further ado she pulled off her sweater dress, revealing the light blue tank top she wore underneath. Artemis looked down at her leggings and shrugged. It wouldn’t matter too much if they got wet, well, hopefully. Now that Artemis was ready she really was wondering if Marina had gotten lost or if he was playing a joke on her. She called out, ”Marina! Come here, I found a great spot to swim! You wanna swim?” Artemis's ears swiveled back and forth like radars trying to catch any indication if Marina was nearby.
