As it turned out, West City wasn't all that bad of a place when it came to the research Ed was currently occupying himself with. Now that the borders have become more freely open to citizens of the western countries, that is. For every few days that he allowed to pass while he remained stationary in West City, one or more immigrants would show up and either stay at or pass through the city boundaries. The process was slow, but the teenager definitely could feel himself picking up bits of information through the various people he had conversed with.
Westerners seemed, however, to be particularly secretive people. From what he had noticed, they prefered keeping to themselves rather than answering the questions of a kid who sure asked a lot of questions about alchemy for someone who couldn't even perform a single transmutation! .... Aaand now he felt like Ling - back when they had met, that annoying prince had been in the same predicament that Ed was now in. With an interest in alchemy, yet at the same time a complete lack of being able to use it. He really did miss it sometimes.
In any case, the blonde had also found a few books of interest at West City's library. It was likely that he would look into those soon... Or now, actually, since his feet seemed to be carrying him that way regardless.
