GENERAL PERSONALITY||
Kroze used to be an innocent little boy, before he was captured and sold to a group of alchemists experimenting on making chimeras. While living there he was made into a bat/human chimera, and stopped talking. The alchemists kept him in a small cage and mistreated and experimented on him. He grew bitter and started plotting escape, all he wanted was to be free.

Kroze used to be curious and cheerful all the time. Now he is cruel and mean-spirited. He tortures the other captive chimeras every chance he gets, liking the feeling of power it gives him. Because of this he is the least-liked chimera at the lab, the other chimeras avoid him and even the alchemists kept their distance, unless he was sedated.

Kroze is lonely, and deep down he hopes that one day he will be able to go back to his home and find his family. He usually tries to keep others at a distance by acting hostile and avoiding them. He is not eager to trust humans, after what was done to him, and is even worse with alchemists.

HISTORY||

When he was still living with his family, he used to go on adventures all the time with his best friend, Treali. They used to go around playing games together and making trouble. The adults bore it with good-natured patience. Sometimes the two even got older kids to play tag and hide-and-seek with them. The two friends were never apart, until Treali disappeared. Kroze was heart-broken and closed off his heart for a long time afterwards.

When Kroze had finally gotten over Treali's disapearence, his friend reappeared. But he was different. Kroze only saw him once. His friend had cat ears and a tail. Had he been older, Kroze would have known they were those of an Ocelot. As it was he was confused. Then the military showed up. They came and took Treali away, and that was the last time Kroze saw him.

When he turned 6, Kroze was kidnapped. He was sitting at the school's playground and some men came up to him and asked if he wanted to see a lion up close. He followed them and they took him to their van. They opened the back and when he looked in, all he saw was an empty van. The men pushed him in the back and one of them jumped in after him and kept him still and quiet.

He was taken to a lab, where they put him in a small cage and ran tests on him. After a two months they took him into a bright white room. Over the months he had lost weight, and almost stopped growing. The alchemists did an experiment that Kroze had no idea what it was. It hurt though, He screamed and cried long after it was over. He passed out halfway through, and when he woke up he was in another new room. This one was big and dark, and there was lots of different things in the room, like rocks and trees.

He saw a pool of water and went over to it and looked at his reflection. He was shocked at what he saw. He looked over his shoulder and saw wings, like those of a bat. He tried to flex them and found that he could move them. He focused on his face and saw that one of his eyes had turned purple and had what looked like a blood seal in it. He tried to get away from his reflection and found himself trying to use his wings. He couldn't control them well and he ran and hid under the roots of a tree.

A year and 10 months later, Kroze escaped from the lab. He had learned well the security and weaknesses of the building. He left without freeing any of the other chimeras he had met. They were nothing to him and if he had learned anything in the lab it was that you take care of yourself, everyone else can rot, as long as you survive. He flew as far as her could from the lab, stole some clothes and an eye patch from a store he passed and flew some more until he couldn't fly anymore. He is now searching for a way to find his family.

"Why would I hate you?"

BlackGabumon grumbled nervously. If Sonia couldn't think of anything, he didn't want to give her any ideas. He glanced around once more at the humans going about their duties. Most of them seemed to be leaving the room, so as to get out of the way. He shifted from foot to foot, having last-minute worries. What if I am too broken for it to work properly? What if it rejects me? What if she rejects me? What if I do something wrong and we don't bond right? What if i hurt us both?

His panic subsided as Sonia gave him a smile. He felt strangely calmed by it. Like no matter what happened, she wouldn't abandon him. Maybe, just maybe, she could make him better. He gave her a small smile in return. The first smile that actually looked like a smile since he had been captured.

"Ok...I'm ready..."

He nodded. He laid his left hand on the same place as the digivice was held, only his cage keeping him from touching it. It was enough. "Dream" He whispered. The digivice glowed, lightly at first, but growing stronger by the second. The light enveloped first Sonia, then BlackGabumon.

His eyes widened, it was unlike anything he had ever felt before. He felt like he was a leaf floating in the breeze, free and untamed. He was surrounded be darkness, unable to see anything. He felt himself slipping, losing his grip, giving in to the feeling of freedom. Finally. I'm free. He was almost gone when felt himself being drawn to something. Something bright, shining like a beacon of hope in a sea of darkness.

He reached out and grabbed hold of it, desperate to keep something so pure near him. He struggled with the darkness, fighting with all his might. Fighting to escape the emptiness, the nothingness that was this void. That was himself.

He gave one last burst of strength, and ripped himself free. He clutched the light and was pulled to safety. He was engulfed by light. It surrounded him, swaddling him in a warm, soothing embrace. He gave a sigh of relief and knew.

This was his hope his savior. He was finally where he was supposed to be. He knew that he had to protect this light with everything he had. Had to keep it safe from everything that sought to harm it, to befoul it. He must be the guardian to this pureness, no matter how dark he may be, it was his duty.

Thinking these thoughts, promising these things, he blinked his eyes. In that one blink he erased the light. Like he had flicked off a light switch. The light left all in one burst. All but the brightest glow. It dimmed the light dwindling, but was not completely extinguished. As his eyes adjusted he saw the source of the light. Sonia.

She glowed, even when all other light was decimated. Hers remained. He looked at her in awe. Now he knew. Now he could protect her. Now he could keep her pure. He removed his hand from the cage wall. His palm stung a bit.

He glanced at it. Etched into his palm was one thing. 夢. The Japanese symbol for dream. He felt a similar sensation on his other palm. He looked at it. Like his other palm it had Japanese symbols on it. 保護. Protect. He glanced at Sonia. Unsure of her reaction.

The cage door opened, programmed to do so when the its occupant was bonded. BlackGabumon stepped out hesitantly, taking a step towards Sonia. His eyes were liquid, looking to her for some type of acknowledgment.

Our first chimera (though I see another shortly behind)! I really like the concept of this character. His history has managed to still be unique and I think it's interesting that he ended up a bat chimera. The animal aspects of these chimeras are often fun to observe, since they affect the personality. Anyways, rather than ramble more, you're definitely good to go! Hopefully his best friend appears soon!! ^_^
