- Special Operations Commander
I've been the leader of Amestrian espionage and special operations for about 2 years- when that giant military conspiracy was taken down. I've gotten a lot of praise for my work- tactical genius, master of minds, unbeatable chess god... It kind of makes me shy to talk about it. I consider myself to be advanced in the arts of military intelligence and operations, and I guess my way of thinking plays off in other parts of my life. I notice the little things, make more than a few plans in case things go wrong, blah-blah-blah. It'd be better if I didn't rant. - Master Swordsman
Woah woah woah... Who is saying I'm a "master" swordsman around here? I'm pretty good if I say so myself, but I'm not a master. Yeah, I've chopped a few bullets in half and did my part in the Ishvalen civil war using my katana, but that doesn't mean I'm any master... Whatever. I guess to the untrained eye, I am pretty good. I've gotten some praise from fellow swordsmen as well; they keep calling me "The Sword of God" or something like that. I don't know why- those alchemists are a lot better than me at killing people!

Remis Abalance De'Vir is personality type ENTJ. His IQ is approximately 180 and demonstrates extreme abilities in strategic planning and reasoning. Due to his high status within the Armed Forces, De'Vir puts on the facade of being casually inept. This guise does not come off unless trusted personnel come to speak with him about extremely important information. De'Vir is known to constantly analyze everything around him and to plan out multiple courses of action in case a variable within his main goal does not fit his intent exactly.
However, due to complex psychological processing habits, De'Vir sees himself as a father figure to some of his younger officers. Though as a leader he is firm and authoritative, he does not order any action to a younger officer without explaining his reasoning first- especially disciplinary action. De'Vir will go to extreme means to defend his staff, and has risked his own job on more than one occasion to save the name of some suspected spies. Though this seemingly reckless behavior would be apparent in an unruly officer, this is actually one of the many factors contributing to his stern ways. De'Vir is a highly trained soldier, and thus has a highly trained mind. It is hard to disturb his mindset if he chooses to make himself invulnerable. He is possibly immune to non-coercive interrogation.
It his possible his disciplined minset and fatherly demeanor may be traits he has developed since the Ishvalan War. During the Ishvalan War of Extermination, De'Vir was sent in as a special forces soldier with 2 other men. Both of them died after killing several hundred Ishvalens, forcing him to not only feel guilty but to also feel as if there is no other person who endured the same experience as him. Though De'Vir does not have any suicidal thoughts, he does occasionally go through random bouts of depression when by himself. After "Judgement Day," De'Vir has exhibited signs of contentment with his new duties and seems to be slightly relieved of his guilt.

Remis De'vir felt the sun shine across his face. He didn't smile outright, but he did enjoy the warmth against his cold skin. The past winter hadn't been anything like they were in Briggs, but it was still rather cold for the general. He didn't wear much clothing, after all. Today, he only wore his signature blue top and his white pants- even the slightest breeze would send shivers down his spine. Today was a warm day, though. Remis didn't feel like he needed to spend hours in solitude or contemplating his previous mistakes. He almost felt relieved of his past. Almost.
"General De'Vir, sir!" A voice called out behind Remis. He sighed, and put on his best facade.
"Goodmorning, Lieutenant. What's the news?" The general smiled his usual fake smile- teeth showing, cheekbones raised, a twinkle in his eye. He stressed the words just right- to the untrained individual, Remis was the happiest person in the world right now. Truthfully, however, the swordsman hated it when he was interrupted by work- especially when he wasn't feeling so bad. Oh well... I guess this is the price I pay... It could be much worse.
"The new transfer files have just come in. You asked that I tell you as soon as I knew, sir."
Remis nodded. He knew those new military officer reports would be coming in soon. He would carefully read each one, making sure that all of the new transfers were not a risk to security. Remis found that part of his job to be fairly interesting. It was a lot more satisfying than drafting up war plans or coining fake identities for Amestrian spies. Besides, everyone in Central had a story to tell- Remis certainly didn't mind reading up on a few backgrounds that weren't as nearly as depressing as his own. "Thank you, Lieutenant. I'll be in my office within the hour. But you know, I've got an hour free if you've got an hour free..." He winked at the attractive young brunette.
Her face went pale with shock. "Sir, I can't, uh, well... This isn't really-"
"I'm kidding! Geez. Now get back to work before I make you go out on a date with me!" He laughed as she rushed away. She's a bit too young for me anyways... Kind of reminds me of Sophia... The general stared into the blue sky absentmindedly. He stood for a few moments, pondering the fate of his love life. He knew in the back of his head that he would probably never have one. Clutching his swords, the swordsman took his time in making his way back to Central.
