ROY MUSTANG
The power of one man doesn't amount to much
But however little strength I'm capable of
I'll do everything humanly possible to protect the people I love
And in turn they'll protect the ones they love
It seems like the least we tiny humans can do for each other.

PERSONALITY
Those who first meet Brigadier General Roy Mustang may wonder how a man like him ever received such an impressive title. Mustang often comes off as narcissistic, self-absorbed, even just plain lazy. He often spends his days seemingly doing nothing, delegating all of his works to his subordinates. This carefree exterior, however, is just a facade to trick others into underestimating the amazing genius of General Roy Mustang. It may be hard to imagine, but this man was not only the Hero of Ishvalen War, but also one of the many great tacticians who overthrew the corrupt military senior staff.
Mustang's inner persona is much more serious, and much more intelligent than most people care to think. He is, at heart, a stern individual with a heart of gold. He seeks to end all the pain and suffering he has caused. In a way, the General seeks retribution for his past sins. This is most fervently expressed in his relationship with his lieutenant Riza Hawkeye- when Mustang does wrong, he knows that it hurts his previous friend (and possibly more?). Riza expresses her dissatisfaction and pain, and Mustang finds it extremely hard to forgive himself.
HISTORY
Roy Mustang was orphaned at a young age for reasons unknown. He does know the reasons why he was orphaned, though he still does retain some family ties. Mustang was adopted by his presumably dead father's younger sister, Chris Mustang. She is better known as Madame Christmas and has served as one of the most important people in Roy's life. She raised her little boy to become a "fine young man."
During his teens, Roy began to learn about alchemy from the expert Berthold Hawkeye. He sought out alchemy as a way to become a source of power and stability for the people of Amestris. Due to rising conflicts within the country, Roy soon sought out to join the military academy with the intention of becoming a state alchemist. During his time at the academy, Mustang met with his soon-to-be-close friend Maes Hughes. At the age of 20, Roy returned to the Hawkeye estate and asked Berthold for the secrets to his masterful work- flame alchemy. Berthold, who died in Roy's arms that very day, left his secret within his supposedly only apprentice. Mustang, revealing his intentions to his master's daughter, not only learned the secrets of flame alchemy, but also inspired his future lieutenant to join the military with him.
The two met during the aftermath of the Ishvalen war a few years later. Mustang, who had almost singe-handedly wiped out a city of Ishvalens, was crowned the "Hero of Ishval" for his work. Riza had become an acclaimed sniper, and both reminisced about a time when their youthful optimism had dominated over them. Riza, feeling guilty for allowing her father's work to be used in such destructive ways, asked Roy to burn the tattoo off of her back so that a "second flame alchemist" could never come into existence. Because of these events, Roy changed his goals from being a pillar of Amestris to being a benign ruler. Fuhrer.
Years passed, and Mustang eventually made his way to being a Colonel at East Command. He recruited the renown Elric brothers, was eventually moved to Central, and uncovered a large military coup that was behind the death of his best friend. Motivated almost entirely by revenge, Mustang was an essential key force in taking down the corrupted senior staff. Together with General Grumman, General Armstrong, and the Elric brothers, Mustang secured the nation of Amestris from the homunculus "Father." Sadly, he lost his sight in the process- though he gained it back soon enough due to the efforts of Dr. Marcoh, under the condition that he do everything in his power to restore the Ishval community.
Now promoted to Brigadier General, Mustang has been working relentlessly by the side of General Grumman and his trusted lieutenant. He knows that though he has not become Fuhrer yet, he will eventually overtake the throne and restore power to the parliament as he pleases. If he doesn't, then Riza will just shoot him in the back of the head!
SAMPLE
General Remis De'Vir smiled as gentle winds blew across his face and hair. The sun erased all the shadows in sight- not even the wispy clouds in the blue sky seemed to cause the glorious light to dim. It was days like these that the General enjoyed so much; when the sky was so clear that all of his past sins seemed to be burned away in the awesome radiance. He was carefree- even happy for once. Pure, actual happiness. The Sword of God knew he would have to relish this day; somewhere in the distant was a storm, and it would be coming for Central. Today, however, it did not need to be worried about.[/quote]
Remis looked around the bustling city for just a moment. He usually walked off and got himself lost, though when one lived in Central, it was always pretty easy to find your way back home. On the other side of the road was a row of shops- a bakery, a tailor, and even a doctor. There were a few stands on the side of the road selling whatever miscellaneous items they could. On Remis' side of the street were a few food places. The sudden rumble in his stomach signaled that he might want to visit one soon.
Despite his hunger, the general, clad in Xingese clothing and armed with his two swords, couldn't draw himself away from this beautiful part of central. A few people were walking by on either side of the road, and cars passed every few seconds. The beautiful music made by the urban lifestyle relaxed him so much. The man took a deep breath and closed his eyes. If only every day could be like this.
