roleplay sample: This is from my wolf character on Virtus an animal RP.
Ookami her body stiff and cold with muscles protesting every movement, tottered downwards. She had not a thought other then to get to a water source. She had passed many on the way by, but, being a foolish and idiotic wolf, she had left them alone, thinking she had plenty of other options and that it surely wouldn't take that long to get down. But, it had and she had gotten thirsty, almost to the point of delusions, so when she saw the little spring in the crook of two large rocks, she almost passed it by assuming it was a trick of her mind, but, the flowing and bubbling noise a little brook will make was something her mind could never conjure so realistically. She padded over to it, almost dragging herself and drank the water in long luxurious gulps.
Her mind cleared and the pounding headache that had buried itself near her eyes disappeared once the icey water reached her throat. She layed next to the spring dozing happily when the howl sounded. The noise brought a shiver to her slender body as it brought up a long ago forgotten memory. Out of pure instinct she howled back, not the howl of one saying "Hey! This is my territory bub!" but of one saying, "Coming mother!" For the memory it had divulged had been of the days she spent with her mother, the one who worked out some howls to mean different things, and this howl, which was so similar to Ooka's mother had knocked that memory straight out of the dusty recesses of her brain and into her vocal memory as she howled in reply.
Her stiff muscled relaxed as she trotted towards the source, her nose twitching and her radar like ears swiveling to catch some of the noises bouncing off rocks around her. Her paws padded surely and swiftly through this terrain which she had traversed for most of her life. Her reddish undercoat sparked vibrantly as the wind bit at her overcoat, parting it to show the vibrant red. Her tail and back fur was fluffed up, like a fake Christmas tree would be, to keep herself warmer and to make herself look bigger, because somewhere in the back of her mind she knew it was not her mother calling. She slowed down and creeped towards the wolves, one who was in a submission like stance but, had not averted his eyes and another who had clearly been alone for a while but, had decided to come to the howl.
She followed neither of their examples but instead just stepped closer to the third wolf, curiosity in her hazel eyes. "You are the one who howled, yes?" Her voice was soft and as polite as a wolf could be, but, her body language suggested not dominance, but, not quite submission.[/SIZE]
