Shit. It was really the only thing on her mind currently and she just couldn't shake it. Ling had originally agreed to accompany her to Rush Valley to have her automail checked up on the premise that they'd visit Central and all their friends later on. While she didn't enjoy the concept of the emperor leaving Xing, she knew her automail needed tuning up and it wouldn't hurt because he'd be with her. She was the only person trustworthy of keeping the young man safe after all these years, especially considering the death of her grandfather. If anyone was going to keep an eye on Ling, it was Lan Fan.
So she thought.
Within the first 20 minutes following her maintenance appointment in Rush Valley, he'd vanished. She wasn't sure how he managed to slip away from her every time, but he did. Lan Fan was simply thankful that he'd waited until afterwards to do so. She had to admit, he was plenty capable of defending himself when the need arose, though she still felt like a terrible guard every time he did this to her. The sole job of the emperor's bodyguard was to always keep the emperor in plain site and protect his life with their own. Now why was it he not only insisted on abandoning her, but took great pride in his ability to do so?
She was in typical Xingese bodyguard garb, complete with her mask. However, she'd removed the mask and hood to appear more friendly and less frightening as she searched for her childhood friend and now the sole ruler of her beloved empire. "Excuse me, have you seen a man in a white and yellow shirt? He's Xingese. It's very obvious. He also likes food. Anyone?" Lan Fan did her best to keep the topic of her search rather simple, refraining from outright stating his person. She called out these same lines through the crowds of people, hoping just one of them would be able to at least point her in the right direction. "Anyone?" Lan Fan was easily beginning to give up hope, her eyes frantically scanning the crowd with no success.
