Hope I'm not overstepping lines by doing this. I thought maybe we could talk about some Omake episodes.
Basically, what we could do is incorporate some side plots. Now, these side plots would not effect the main plot at all. Say, Riza and Elicia want to go on a little play date to the park, obviously they would have to work some kind of real scenario into the main plot to get this. I figured with this Omake they could just say 'Riza felt like taking her on a play date' and not be bogged with that sort of detailed reason as to why.
Another perk to this might be that, say someone wants to play Alphonse but doesn't want to claim the character because they have too many or whatever their reason is. In the Omake section they could do such a thing, or see it as being allowed to play as a Homunculus (As I believe we are not allowed to claim.) Or even a previously dead character like Nina Tucker.
Of course not every thread would need to be a funny thread. You could have a serious date between Roy and someone without it having to effect the main plot. (Fangirls I am looking at you!) A serious discussion between two characters, or a fight.
Personally, I would love to play Lust and Kimblee sometime, but obviously we are limited on who we can play (I believe, feel free to correct me.) Having an Omake thread could open up this possibility. Everyone here is so creative and I have noticed that everyone on this site posts on their open threads rather regularly... I don't think anyone would have a problem starting a side thread that doesn't demand the immediate attention of each member who starts one. It's more or less a nice casual side thing to pass time maybe.
Another idea I had was, a dating sim. Say a Bachelor//ette auction - Or a festival. An open thread where everyone can join in. Or you could even reserve characters you've discussed with another member (As stated i.e. a date with Roy and someone.)
I am just throwing out some ideas... I'd love to hear some feedback or some reason why we can't do it, which would be fine honestly. I realize it might need some kinks to be worked out or is just simply not desired. Still, can't blame an old la--- .... A woman for trying something out~.
